Before you can reach the Rayvis fight in Jedi Survivor, there is a Republic Research Laboratory puzzle that is incredibly confusing at first glance. Here’s how to solve the Republic Research Laboratory Puzzle in Jedi Survivor.
Jedi Survivor – How to Solve the Republic Research Laboratory Puzzle
When you arrive at the lab on the Shattered Moon, you’ll find the main puzzle room to the left after discovering the Mediation Point. Cal will have to jump across the gap to make it inside, and once the jump is made, there is plenty of broken glass and a pedestal for the orb on the right. This is the main hint for leaving the room.
If you look directly ahead at the glass that is shattered in the middle window, you can see one of the purple orbs on the left side of that room that became familiar in the Devastated Settlement. There is no way to pull the orb through the glass, but you can certainly use the Force to pick it up in Jedi Survivor, even with the glass in the way.
Republic Research Laboratory Puzzle Steps:
- Pick up the orb on the other side of the glass with the Force.
- Aim the orb at the door on the other side of the room where there is a ramp directed upwards.
- Tossing the orb at the ramp will allow it to roll to the other side.
- You need to run to the other room on the right as soon as you throw the orb before it falls and resets.
- If you were fast enough, you can pick up the orb with the Force again and place it on the pedestal in the main room.
With the orb in place for the Republic Research Laboratory puzzle, the beam will melt away the vines that are on the other door. Now you have a clear path to climb to the center of the massive room and make your way up to Rayvis. You will still need to learn how to use the Upgraded Ascension Cable, which I was still confused by for a bit as I explored with Cal in Jedi Survivor, but you can find the upgrade in the same room.
Strategies for Beating Rayvis
Once the Republic Research Laboratory puzzle is out of the way, your immediate next step is to face and take down Rayvis himself. The best advice we can give is to stay far away from his heavy attacks and projectiles. Use your blaster to stop charging strikes when you see them. Rayvis is almost entirely predictable and very slow and bulky, making his boss battle fairly easy.
Most of his attacks can be dodged or parried. You’ll want to dodge projectiles, parry blaster bullets, dodge grapples, and dodge flail charges (when he glows red). Follow this formula and he’ll go down quickly.
While Rayvis himself isn’t a particularly nasty boss fight, getting to him can be. Check out our guide on how to pursue Rayvis for more tips and tricks.
