How to Use the Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4

What lies behind this poorly guarded door?

So, you’ve beaten Season One’s campaign, quelling the source of the Malignance. Or have you? Malignant enemies and Malignant Tunnels still work their way through Sanctuary, and now you have an entirely new item in your possession: the Invoker of Varshan. Here’s how to find the Echo of Varshan in Diablo 4.

How to Find the Echo of Varshan in Diablo 4

Upon defeating the season one campaign, you’ll find that Varshan drops an Invoker of Varshan. Cormond will also give you a cache that has a recipe for this very same Invoker. But once you have it, you’ll likely notice that there are no notes on what to do with it. Here’s everything you need to know.

Invokers of Varshan will allow you to fight Echos of Varshan. The difficulty of these Echoes will be based on the tier level of the Invoker you have. To use this Invoker, you’ll need to enter the Malignant Tunnels. Within these tunnels, there is a random chance a wooden door with chains will spawn.

I’ve noticed in my own playthroughs that these doors tend to be very close to the Corrupted Chamber where you’ll find the Outgrowths you can use Invokers on. The health point near these doors is also a good indicator of their location.

Once you go through the door, you’ll find a singular Outgrowth in the chamber. Interact with it, and it will summon an Echo of Varshan. These Echoes are very similar to the one you fought during the seasonal campaign in terms of how they fight. But when you defeat them, you’ll get a significant amount of Malignant Ichor and loot that corresponds with your world tier. I fought my first Echo of Varshan in World Tier 2, so I received four rare items. Sadly, no Legendary items.
