With the variety of new tools available in your arsenal in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it’s sometimes easy to forget the easier things in life. For a variety of reasons, you may not be able to rely on the newly found Zonai technology throughout the world and have to do things the good old-fashioned way with your favorite stallion. By visiting different Stables, you’ll be able to collect Pony Points, which are redeemed for a variety of different items including the Towing Harness, which comes in handy a fair number of times throughout your adventure. But, how in the world do you actually hook it up?
How To Use the Horse Harness In Tears of the Kingdom
To get the Towing Harness in TOTK, you’ll first need to acquire 3 Pony Points. These points are rewarded when you arrive at new stables, or if you lodge at any stable on the map. You can lodge at a stable by talking to the Stablehand and sleeping for any amount of time.
Once you have earned 3 Pony Points, you’ll just need to go to the Book inside the stable and redeem the reward. Speak to the Stablehand on the outside of the building, and select the option to Customize Horse. You’ll pick which horse you want to connect this object to, and you’ll be ready to start using the horse harness.

After this, you’ll want to find an object to connect to the towing hook, like the cart you need in the Great Fairy Fountain quest with the Ultrahand. Once you find the spot you would like to connect it to, just press the A Button to attach it to the object of choice and hop back onto your steed. There are no extra controls needed besides your standard riding options, but do note that you can lose the object you’re towing if you’re too rough on your transit. Ride safely, and you’ll be able to take your object to the next destination with ease.
