As FromSoftware has continued to grow, they’ve been quickly recognized for one thing in particular; their ability to create punishing, yet rewarding games in the Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Elden Ring franchises. Now that Armored Core 6 is on the market, fans who are eager to pick this up may be wondering if FromSoftware has gone away from its original mission-based structure in favor of a more Souls-Like approach, or if their favorite Mech Franchise has stuck to its guns and stayed true to itself. Let’s dive in and find out.
Is Armored Core 6 Considered A Souls-Like?
For fans that have grown to know and love the Armored Core franchise for being brutally difficult when it needs to be, all while providing high-flying action and plenty of customization, things haven’t changed here at all. While some fans may have been hoping for more of a Souls-Like approach to things, this is Armored Core through and through.
You’ll need to customize your mech before taking part in different Sorties, set in a variety of different stages and worlds that will change with your destruction. While some missions may only take a few minutes to beat, a powerful boss will come your way and humble you quickly. You won’t need to worry about exploring an open world, or even an open-zoned environment here.
