Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is now available on PC and consoles, and it’s a faithful remaster of the classic Ubisoft title from 2003. This remaster is also available on Steam, and runs quite well on a variety of configurations. However, is Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition playable on the Steam Deck? Here is everything you need to know.
Is Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition Playable on Steam Deck?
Yes, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is playable on the Steam Deck and runs at a locked 60 FPS without a problem.
Like other Ubisoft titles on Steam, you will need to use Ubisoft Connect. When you first launch the game on the Steam Deck, it will install Ubisoft Connect, followed by an update. You will need to log in as well, and it’s best to ensure you check the “Remember this device” option to avoid logging in every time.
You can also access your progress from a different device by loading the online save. Make sure to upload your data to the online save slot after you’re done with a session so you can carry on with the game on a different device.
Apart from that, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is a fantastic experience on the Steam Deck and doesn’t take a lot of power either. You can comfortably set the TDP limit to 10 watts if you want, and despite some occasional drops here and there, it’ll still be locked at 60 FPS for the most part. There is letterboxing though, which you’ll have to get used to but it’s not that bad.
All in all, this is a great remaster, especially for the low price of $20. The new textures and lighting are great, the inclusion of auto-saving makes it easy to progress, and the new camera controls are much better and in line with modern titles.
