Grand Theft Auto 6 has a metric ton of hype behind its 2025 release, though those of us on PC are wondering if the game will be coming to the platform at launch. Here’s whether GTA 6 is coming to PC.
Will GTA 6 Release on PC?
As of writing, it appears GTA 6 won’t be available on PC when it releases in 2025. That’s not to say that it won’t ever be, since not putting it on PC at all would be a massive loss of money for them, but it won’t be there at the console launch. This was confirmed through a press release from Take-Two Interactive, stating “Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation® 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025.”
The reason behind this choice is currently unknown, but most people in the community have a good hunch. Many believe that by doing this, Rockstar are looking to have people willing to purchase a console and play it on that console, then purchase the game on PC later once available. That way, they’re essentially getting double the profits on the title without doing too much else. Keep in mind that these are just guesses though, and no evidence has come for or against this being the case.
Is GTA 6 Coming to Any Other Platforms?
As for whether we’ll see GTA 6 on any other platforms, that’s much more up in the air. The Nintendo Switch will simply be unable to handle anything the game throws at it, and I’d be shocked if a next-gen Switch would be able to surpass its likely colossal requirements either. Other than that, it could come to other platforms exclusively through cloud gaming. We won’t know for certain until it’s closer to release though.
