If you’ve seen Respawn Punisher ability used by your ally or enemy, there’s a decent chance you’ve seen that player clean up and take a significant number of kills. Is it worth following in their footsteps?

For those not in the know, Respawn Punisher is an ability that’s exclusive to clothes that can’t be rolled as a secondary gear ability. But more importantly, it’s an ability that increases respawn time and the amount of Special Gauge that is lost to both the user and opponents defeated by the user.

This ability affects the Respawn Punisher user more than the players they’ve defeated, as you can see in the table below.

Knowing that, Respawn Punisher is a move that benefits players who can stay alive. If you have a high kill-death ratio, you can really benefit from this ability while punishing the opposing team. But if you’re a front-line player like a Slayer, Respawn Punisher is a move that might end up punishing you.

If you feel confident in your abilities, it’s quite good. And in Splatoon 3, it’s even better, as it completely negates faster respawns granted by Tacticooler. But another good alternative to this ability is Haunt.
