Luckily, everything you need to make the Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry is found in the early portion of the game, so you won’t have to venture far to get the ingredients. This article covers how to make the old man’s recipe of Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and where to find the ingredients early in the game.
Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry Ingredients
- Raw Meat
- Hyrule Bass
- Spicy Pepper
You can catch a Hyrule Bass from the pond just west of the Temple of Time. Just swim out to the small island in the middle of the pond and quickly swim over to one of the fish, or jump in right next to a fish and quickly grab it. You’ll probably need to press X to move faster in the water to make it easier to catch one, but there are plenty in the pond to find.
To find Raw Meat the easiest source in the opening area would be the boars that roam the Forest of Spirits northwest of the Temple of Time and just north of where Link awakens. Sneak up on the boars by pressing inward on the Left Analog Stick so Link moves quietly. When you’re within arrow range, aim for the head so they go down in one shot.
Once you have the Raw Meat and Hyrule Bass, head to the cabin in the fields south of the Temple of Time. Inside you’ll find a Spicy Pepper on the table in the middle of the room, along with some other loot scattered about the cabin.
If you wait until night, the old man will appear by the fire just outside the cabin. You can cook the dish in the pot over the fire and speak with the old man again to obtain the Warm Doublet! As a side note, if you add more Spicy Peppers to the recipe it will extend the duration of the food effect.
