Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire features a massive open world with a day/night cycle that players will need to take into account when they’re completing quests and other things throughout the world. Resting in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire can be a great way to pass time while letting your party recover from their wounds and fatigue. Knowing how to rest and wait is important in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, so read on to find out everything you will need to know.
How to Rest
Resting in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is easy to do. All you need to do to quickly access the Rest menu is press R on your keyboard when using the default keybindings. This will allow you to rest, and if you’re in an area where you can camp, you’ll be given a nice screen where you can choose items and things for your party members to heal up and rest better. Keep in mind that you’ll need camping utensils in order to rest, so make sure you pick some up at the nearest vendor shop.
If you’re in a city where you can’t rest, then you’ll be able to wait. Waiting works similarly to resting, though you won’t get the extra benefits you get from resting. Of course, you can always rest in Inns when you’re inside of a city area, though it will cost you a few CP for a room. If you’re just going to wait, then you’ll be able to choose anywhere from one hour, to a certain time of day. You’ll be given a rundown of how much time will pass, and then you can choose to wait or not wait.
If you choose to wait for an extended amount of time, you can always bring the waiting to a stop by pressing Cancel on the menu here. This will stop the waiting and put you back into the action, allowing you to stop early on if you want.
Keep in mind that some quests require you to complete them without specific time periods, and that you may need to look for certain NPCs during specific hours. Resting and waiting can be a great way to pass time in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, so knowing how to do it is half the battle.
