Pokemon GO Special Research Story “Glitz and Glam” Date and Time
You will unlock the Special Research story “Glitz and Glam” when you log in to Pokemon GO starting on May 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM local time.
The Special Research story does not expire once you obtain it, so you can complete the tasks as quickly or as slowly as you please.
Pokemon GO Special Research Story “Glitz and Glam” Rewards
The shining star of the Glitz and Glam free Special Research story is an encounter with the Mythical Pokemon Diancie. The tasks and other rewards for the Glitz and Glam Special Research are currently unknown. If it’s anything like the GO Fest 2023 ticket exclusive Special Research, there should be enough Diancie Mega Energy to Mega Evolve it (300 Mega Energy), but that remains to be seen.
Note that if you access the Special Research exclusive to the Pokemon GO Fest 2023 ticket, which also includes an encounter with Diancie as one of the rewards, you won’t be able to obtain Diancie from completing Glitz and Glam. You will instead earn Diancie Candy.

Field Research Rewards
There will also be Field Research to coincide with the release of the Glitz and Glam Special Research story. The rewards for completing these Field Research tasks will include encounters with Carbink and Diancie Mega Energy. It is currently unknown how much Diancie Mega Energy will be rewarded for completing tasks.
Field Research Dates and Times
The Diancie-themed Field Research tasks will be available from spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops starting on Wednesday, May 1 at 12:00 AM (midnight) until Friday, May 3 at 11:59 PM local time. If you must prioritize one over the other, try to clear as many event-themed Field Research tasks as possible in the allotted time frame since you can take as long as you need to complete the Special Research itself.
