PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is slowly growing closer to it’s 1.0 release, and developer PUBG Corporation is hard at work putting the finishing touches on the game’s largest update thus far. Included in the new update is a revamped UI, several tweaks to the game’s core mechanics, and even a stunning new map that takes players to Miramar, a desert region unlike anything PUBG players have seen in the game before. As the 1.0 update grows closer, PUBG Corporation and Bluehole have decided to offer fans a limited time access to the new map and changes through the game’s test server, and today we’ll show you how to play the new desert map, Miramar, right now by learning how to join the test server in PUBG.
How to Get into the Test Server
Getting into the test server is extremely easy, and it won’t take much to pull off. In fact, all you’ll need to do is own PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and then look for the item inside of your Steam library. It’s located directly under PUBG’s normal mode in your library list, and it should be called PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (Test Server). It should look like the text in the screenshot below.
Once you find it, go ahead and give it a download. It shouldn’t take too long, depending on your internet services, as the test server itself is only about thirteen gigabytes in size, so downloading it should be a cinch. When it’s fully downloaded, simply click on it in your Steam library and load it up.
You should see quite a different main menu screen when you launch the test server, and this is just a taste of what you can expect to see from the new update. There are also new weapons, changes to core mechanics, and of course, the main thing that everyone wants to experience—the new desert map.
To play the new desert map all you need to do is select your mode in the bottom left-hand corner, and then select which type of mode you want to play, first person or third person. Once your decision is made, simply click the Play button and you’ll be added to the matchmaking queue and thrust into a game in the new map.
Players will have access to the PUBG test servers from December 8 to December 10.
