How to Complete Bounties

Getting your hands-on bounties can be somewhat tough, as we’ve only ever found them inside of Messages in a Bottle, which are randomly found around the game world. These items often shine like a piece of treasure when you see them, so any shiny pieces should be investigated to see if you can find yourself a Message in a Bottle.

Once you have the bounty, you can view it like any other clue or map. Bring up the wheel and then select it to open it up.

When looking at a bounty you’ll notice that it doesn’t work the same as a map. Instead of showing the island you need to go to, it will instead have a picture of the culprit, and then several things written around the image. Pay careful attention to these writings, as they will reveal clues as to where you can find the bounty at.

Once you’ve figured out where the bounty is, head onto your ship and locate the destination and head that way. You’ll probably need to sail somewhere a good distance away, so it might be worth stopping at a nearby port to grab up any additional supplies you can find to make sure the ship stays in pristine fighting conditions.

After you arrive at the location specified in the bounty, it’s time to set about looking for the bounty’s location. There’s no real trick to this part of the mission, though, so you’ll need to simply look around until you find an area that seems similar to a boss-fight arena. Usually you’ll see mob after mob spawning, and even after you kill them all, you’ll continue to see more spawn up in waves. Deal with all of the spawning mobs and after they are taken care of, the bounty should spawn.

These enemies act somewhat similar to mini-bosses, so make sure you have a crew with you before you try to take any of them down, as they are extremely difficult to defeat. That’s really all there is to know when it comes to completing bounties. Now that you know the basics, head over to our Sea of Thieves game hub for more helpful guides and information.
