In Sea of Thieves, players take on the role of a pirate as they sail the seas with their crew, plundering and pillaging their way to pirate fame. If you’re going to become the most famous pirate sailing the seas, then you’re going to need to have your own unique style. In this article we’ll show you how to get new clothes in Sea of Thieves, as well as how to equip them to your character.
How to Get New Clothes
There’s currently only one known way to get new clothes in Sea of Thieves, and that’s to purchase the clothes that you want from General Clothing shop. You can find this shop on the main hub island. Look out for a shack with a cloth sign with a boot and the bottom of a pair of pants on it. Head inside the shop to find the clerk inside.
Talk to the clerk and you’ll be given an assortment of items to choose from. These items will cost you gold to pick up, which you can obtain by finding chests and things on Voyages. If you aren’t sure how to get Voyages, then be sure to check out our guide on how to find Voyages and complete them.
Once you have enough gold for the clothes that you want, head to the shop and purchase them. You’ll then need to equip the clothes that you want to show off and wear while exploring the seas, which we will explain in the next section of this guide.
How to Change Clothes
To change clothes you will need to locate the Clothing Chest. This chest can be found both in front of the General Clothing Shop, as well as aboard your crew’s ship. The chest is easily found by looking for a wooden box with several pieces of clothing sticking out of it. You can interact with it sing the button prompt that is marked on the box, and once it opens, you can see the different categories of clothing that you currently have available for your character.
