So, you managed to find the legendary treasure known as Kryx’s Legacy in Starfield during the Eye of the Storm mission, and now you need to decide whether it goes to the UC SysDef or the Crimson Fleet faction. Regardless of your actions up to this point, you can go either way, and I’m here to help you decide which option is the best for your character. Here’s whether you should bring Kryx’s Legacy to UC SysDef or the Crimson Fleet in Starfield.
Should You Side With UC SysDef or the Crimson Fleet?
You should bring Kryx’s Legacy to the UC SysDef. There are good reasons to bring the Galbank data to either side, but the negatives aren’t equal. If you side with the Crimson Fleet over the SysDef faction, you will be friendly with all pirates in the galaxy. That doesn’t sound bad at first until you remember that most of the dungeons in the game involve some sort of pirate.
If you are friendly with Crimson Fleet, then attacking their members results in a bounty. Then you need to either find and kill every witness or pay massive fines any time you take one of these camps on in combat. You will feel much more limited in what dungeons you can attack for loot, which is why we went with the UC SysDef during the Legacy’s End mission.
What Happens if You Side With UC SysDef in Starfield?
The largest benefit to siding with UC SysDef is access to their mission board. This is different from the UC Vanguard board and only becomes available after the Legacy’s End mission is complete. Of course, you need to prove yourself to Commander Ikande if you want to keep helping out.
On top of the mission board, you get 250,000 Credits, which is the exact same amount you get from the Crimson Fleet.
So, you should side with UC SysDef if you want:
- 250,000 Credits.
- Access to the UC SysDef mission board on the Vigilance.
- Constellation companion approval.
With all that said, there are still a couple of reasons to choose the fleet over the UC SysDef.
What Happens if You Side With the Crimson Fleet in Starfield?
If you choose the Crimson Fleet, you get 250,000 Credits and you retain access to all the vendors on The Key. This is important because it’s one of the best ways to sell contraband and truly play as a rogue pirate in Starfield.
Most of the UC faction will still have no idea that you helped the Crimson Fleet either, so there is no harm there. But you still have to deal with half the dungeons in the game resulting in bounties any time you attack.
So, you should side with the Crimson Fleet if you want:
- 250,000 Credits.
- Access to all vendors on The Key.
- Space pirate friends.
