Though the main pull of Sniper Elite 4 is the ability to take out targets from hidden places around the map, there are plenty of secondary weapons available for when things start to go pear shaped. There are exactly seven of these items, and most of them fall within the submachine gun family. In this article we’ll go over the full list of all seven secondary weapons available in Sniper Elite 4 and tell you how to unlock them.
Thompson
Karl’s trusty sidekick in the game, the Thompson is a high magazine submachine gun with a 30-round magazine. The weapon isn’t useful for stealth encounters, but it can be quite the life saver when things start to hit the fan. This weapon is unlocked by default and offers a fairly balanced approach to close quarters combat with enemy soldiers.
MP 40
The MP 40 holds two additional rounds over the Thompson and even offers a bit more range to help you take down your enemies. Its muzzle velocity is just a bit higher, with the weapon’s rate of fire taking a hit to make up the difference. The MP 40 also offers a higher base accuracy over the Thompson, making it ideal for those who want to go loud while getting up close and personal with the enemy. To purchase this weapon you’ll need $3.
MKB 42
Sporting a 30-round magazine, the MKB 42 is very similar to the Thompson. It does struggle a bit when it comes to recoil dampening and rate of fire, but these losses are more than made up for by the additional muzzle velocity, range and accuracy provided by this weapon. It also only costs $3 to unlock, making it inexpensive to pick up and add to your arsenal.
MAB 38
Featuring the largest magazine available on a secondary weapon, the MAB 38 is a beast to be reckoned with. The additional rounds in each magazine do come at a cost, though, with the weapon featuring a bit smaller damage per round compared to others in the family. Lower recoil dampening and rate of fire are also factors to take into account, but an increase in range and muzzle velocity help even things out. This weapon will only cost you $3 to unlock.
FNAB-43
The final submachine gun available outside of DLC, the FNAB-43 offers one of the lowest magazine sizes in the secondary weapon lineup. It does include an increased damage stat, as well as increased accuracy, range, and muzzle velocity. Its rate of fire is one of the lower ones within the family, though, so take that into account when equipping it. Another $3 is required to pick this item up.
M3 Grease Gun
Those who pick up the Silent Warfare Weapons Pack will be able to get their hands on the M3 Grease Gun, which features stats on par with the basic Thompson. It does have an increased range, but the rate of fire and accuracy take a hit on this DLC weapon.
Trench Gun
One of our personal favorites, the Trench Gun features the highest damage stat in the secondary weapon lineup. This damage comes at a hefty price, though, with the recoil dampening, accuracy, range and rate of fire stats all taking a massive hit. You’ll also need to consider the fact that this shotgun only holds 5 rounds per magazine, versus the 20+ that other weapons hold. Check out our guide on how to unlock the trench gun for details about how to get your hands on this beast.
