Look, no one plays the Sims because they want to experience the tedious grind of the workplace. Here are the eight best career cheats for the Sims 4.
Best Career Cheats for The Sims 4
If you’ve ever dreamt of becoming a really, really controlling HOA president, then the Sims 4 is for you. But if you really want to beautify your neighborhood and fill it with the most ridiculously expensive things possible, your sims will have to get jobs.
And why bother with the normal daily grind when you can use cheat codes to propel your Sim to success? It’s like nepotism, but without the resentment of your colleagues.
How to Use Cheat Codes in The Sims 4, All Platforms
The joy of The Sims is the unbridled creativity and control you have. And cheat codes make it much easier to get that dopamine hit.
Here’s how you use cheat codes in the Sims 4:
- For PC: Hold Ctrl and Shift, then press “c”.
- For Mac: Hold Command and Shift, then press “c”.
- For PS4: Hold down all the four shoulder buttons at the same time.
- For Xbox: Hold down all four shoulder buttons at the same time.
Now, type “testingCheats true” to enable cheats in your save.
If you’ve done this successfully, a text box will appear at the top of the Sims 4 screen. You can then input the codes, which will be listed below.
These cheat codes will allow you to instantly promote your Sim in the career they’re in. If you want to promote your Sim to the top rank in that career, repeatedly enter the code.
Likewise, you can opt to demote your sim by changing the code from “careers.promote” to “careers.demote”.
Now, let’s start making those Simoleons.
Villain
If you’ve got a roleplay streak or a love for causing mayhem, then look no further than the Villain job. You can branch into this career through the Secret Agent job. Once your sim is a villain, they’ll spend five hours daily doing as many Mischief Interactions as possible. Plus, you’ll get a Commemorative Freeze Ray!
To rocket your Villainous sim to Triple Agent, just use the following code:
- careers.promote SecretAgent
Investor
A business career? On my best cheat code list? What a surprise. But the real surprise is that the Investor ranks so low, making a middling income in the face of some of our later careers. You can opt to invest in stocks to make some extra Simoleons.
I highly recommend going the Investor route, which will net you more income, and using this code to get to Angel Investor:
- careers.promote Business
Civic Planner
If you’ve got the Eco Lifestyle Expansion pack, it’s a good idea to grab the Civil Designer career, especially if you love the idea of a green, clean, and environmentally sustainable neighborhood. If we can’t have it in real life, at least we have cyberspace.
Civic Planner is a great job, beyond the money it provides, because it also gives you the special Champion of the People Reward trait at its final level. This will let you get extra Influence points every time you get Influence.
To become the leanest and greenest in the neighborhood, use this cheat code:
- careers.promote careers_Adult_CivilDesigner
Botanist
The Gardener is another expansion pack career, but if you have it, then absolutely go down the Botanist career path. While, on paper, it looks like it’d make less than the florist, it actually makes more.
At the end of the Botanist career path, you’ll get the Blemish Blossom, which is a print of a plant’s cell structure. Perfect for houses that know how to match science with the avant-garde.
To become the best at dissecting the secrets of plants, use this cheat code:
- careers.promote Adult_Gardener
Interstellar Smuggler
Who among us didn’t want to be an astronaut? To explore the black oblivion seas that stretch between cold stars. To look at a planet and know its secret, written in arcane equations? To touch land that has never known warmth or life?
Well, that probably isn’t happening for most of us. Me included. But that doesn’t mean your Sim can’t be an astronaut! In fact, they can even go down the Han Solo/Mal Reynolds route and become Interstellar Smugglers. Which I highly recommend, as it offers the most Simoleons.
Of course, it’s not easy to become an astronaut. And it’s even harder to get promoted. Unless you use this cheat code, of course:
- careers.promote Astronaut
Stylist or Trend Setter
Yes, the Style Influencer career appears once again! And for good reason. Both paths of the Style Influencer career offer a decent salary. The Stylist gets a bigger payout, but the Trend Setter lets you invent new clothing styles. And what’s better than being rich and glamorous?
Here’s the cheat code that will let you hit the final promotion for influencers:
- careers.promote Influencer
Officer
And here we are. The crème de la crème of careers. Not because it’s particularly fun, or innovative, but because it gets you a lot of money.
The military offers the absolute best in terms of cold-hard Simoleons. In reality, it doesn’t matter if you choose Officer or Covert Operator. They both make the same amount of money ($422 an hour); the only difference is that Covert Operators work at night, and Officers work during the day. Use this to guide your career pathing decisions.
Use this cheat code to not waste any time grinding and push-up’ing your way into those higher ranks:
- careers.promote Military
