The new Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp remake of two classic Game Boy Advance games is finally coming to Nintendo Switch soon, after a few delays. Although we all remember these two strategy titles from the early 2000s the most, this series has a much longer and more interesting history that reaches back to the early days of the 8-bit Famicom and OG Game Boy days. So there you have it, the complete history of the “Wars” series. As you can see, until the Game Boy Advance times, this series was almost 100% exclusive to Japan only, but some of these games were later released in the West through the Virtual Console service and other re-release compilations.
Certainly Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp represents the first real full remake of games from this series that will revive this somewhat forgotten franchise when it arrives at the end of next month.
