Warcraft Rumble Beginner Guide: What to Know First

Before diving into my list of tips, I’d like to encourage you to spend some time actually understanding the mechanics of Warcraft Rumble. There are several moving parts during missions: Minis sent to collect Gold so you can summon more allies, multiple lanes for your army to travel down, nuances to an opposing Leader’s abilities, and plenty more.

As simple as these seem, they become quickly complicated when you must pay attention to everything in real time, especially during a difficult map. Retry older missions and consider switching up your army to get a better sense of Warcraft Rumble if its learning curve and tutorial pacing are too fast for your liking. With that out of the way, here are my tips!

Map Control Is King

Having complete control of the flow and pace of a map will be essential to win the most challenging fights in Warcraft Rumble. That means securing a healthy economic cycle by sending Minis to sap Gold veins and open treasure chests. While doing so, order groups of Minis to destroy nearby Guard Towers to cut off the enemy from resources.

You must be aggressive to capture Towers and Meeting Stones before the enemy overwhelms you. It could take some trial and error, but always remember to find ways to secure Gold efficiently and gain more ground on the enemy.

Unbound Minis Are Really Strong in PvE

Unbound Minis such as Quilboar, S.A.F.E Pilot, Whelp Eggs, and Earth Elemental are very strong in PvE because they can be summoned anywhere on a map. When timed with a strong push or to distract an opposing Leader from using their abilities, Unbound Minis can disrupt the odds in your favor and even help you gain resources like chests in unsafe areas.

Don’t Fight the GRID, Take Advantage

All players must regularly interact with the GRID shop if they want their Minis and Leaders to become stronger in Warcraft Rumble. Unfortunately, the GRID can be tricky to wrap your head around in the first few hours of playing. Basically, the shop features nine tiles of randomized Minis and Talents, and depending on what you buy with Gold, the purchased tile’s row and column will reset. This way, you refresh the board to your liking and sometimes even snag extra XP based on the position of your purchase.

To get the most value, I’d advise sacrificing Gold to move around Minis on the board to line them up with those you want to reset. Take advantage of your ability to refresh the board to get better Minis or specific Talents onto the GRID. It’s not a foolproof plan to get what you want because there’s a gacha element here, but it helps you spend Gold more wisely.

Build a Core Army Around Your Leader

Leaders can make all the difference in Warcraft Rumble, bringing the best out of your Minis. Baron Rivendare, Grommash Hellscream, and Tirion Fordring are a few of the best Leaders in the game, offering some crucial versatility and powerful synergy with Minis.

If you’re just starting Warcraft Rumble and haven’t gotten your free Leader yet, consider selecting one of the characters I mentioned and building a core army around them. For instance, Undead Minis will complement the Talents that Baron Rivendare can use, making your force stronger. Always spend Gold on Minis that synergy well with your primary Leader.

Improve All Factions

As you get the hang of everything and build a core army, don’t forget to expand your army into other Factions. Warcraft Rumble will encourage you to diversify your army with different Leaders and Minis from various Factions, and there’s an important reason for this.

Later, each Faction will have a Heroic campaign, which you can only beat with units from the Faction story you’re progressing through. You’ll receive massive rewards for finishing these campaigns to help upgrade your army into the late game. Don’t neglect the Minis and Leaders you aren’t using as often because they will be useful for Heroic campaigns.

Warcraft Rumble can be high-stakes, but as long as you remember these tips, you’ll get into the groove of everything and become a finger-slinging tactician in no time!
