Warhammer 40K: Darktide may seem like a simple game on the surface, yet it’s much more complicated than one might realize. Beyond the basic ideas of both class and abilities, there’s a whole host of feats (the game’s iteration of skill trees) and weapon abilities that need to be honed to last on higher difficulties. One of these stats which comes with the game’s Curios is Wounds, which can be very confusing if you don’t know what it means. Here’s what the Wounds stat is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
The Darktide Wounds Stat Explained
As mentioned, the Wounds stat can first be found when equipping your first Curio. Your first Curio opens up at trust level 8, with the next two unlocking at levels 16 and 24. From there, you can purchase a Curio that has Wounds from the shop. Each point of Wounds you get will increase your total health bars by 1, although it’s important to note that doesn’t mean you’ll gain more HP for each wound. This simply allows you to go down one more time without corruption outright killing you.

As much as the Wounds stat might sound very good, its uses will diminish as you continue to play the game and get better. Once you’re good enough, you’ll be looking towards other stats such as Max Stamina rather than Wounds, as having better stats will lead to less damage taken naturally and a better overall experience. For the early game on each character though, this can act as a nice buffer to the inevitable mistakes you’ll be making in the middle of combat. You’ll heal to full health each time you use a Medicae station, which means this extra HP will also be a consistent help no matter what stage of that match you’re at.
