Diablo 4 has made several changes to accommodate the community’s needs regarding some quality-of-life improvements. While not everything has been answered yet, some fantastic changes are coming to Diablo 4 Season 5. Apart from these balancing and quality-of-life changes, there’s a new season mechanic involving the Infernal Compasses and some new unique items for players to experiment on. Here’s everything you need to know that is coming to Diablo 4 Season 5.
Notable Quality of Life Improvements
The Diablo 4 community has been requesting numerous quality-of-life features for quite a while, and they have finally been addressed. Here’s a short list of the notable quality-of-life changes in Diablo 4 Season 5.
- You don’t need to leave the dungeon and reset to fight the same boss. The summoning altar will now reappear after beating the boss.
- Varshan only requires Malignant Hearts instead of collecting all the body parts.
- More gold drops from endgame bosses.
- Beast in Ice boss doesn’t require you to craft the sigil; the boss is much closer to the entrance now.
- Resplendent Sparks are now given for each defeated Tormented boss.
- Uniques and Uber Uniques (Mythic Uniques) can now drop from Murmuring Obols exchanges.
- Better loot from Treasure Goblins
Infernals Season Mechanic
In Season 5, you’ll confront the endless waves of infernal hordes in the Realm of Hatred by using an Infernal Compass. There will be hordes of enemies attacking you, and there will be a time limit for you to defeat all the enemies. You can proceed to the next wave if you eliminate all the enemies before the timer runs out. You’ll be given a choice among three powerful rewards or “Infernal Offers” after defeating a wave.
Each Infernal Offer will provide you some Boons and Banes to modify the enemies’ power. If they prove too difficult, you can select an Infernal Offer that isn’t that strong.
After finishing the run, you’ll gain some Burning Aether from all the defeated enemies, and you’ll have a choice of four different spoils on which to spend your Burning Aether.
There’s a reward that gives a guaranteed item with a Greater Affix!
New Unique Items, Temper Manuals Change
The biggest Tempering Manual change is the Worldly Finesse Tempering with the Critical Strike Damage, which will now be available to all classes, instead of making a Rogue to get this CSD Temper on a weapon.
Barbarian New Unique Item
Unbroken Chain – Amulet
- Casting Steel Grasp reduces Iron Maelstrom’s Cooldown by 3.3-10 seconds. Enemies damaged by Iron Maelstrom deal 15-30% less damage for 6 seconds.
Druid New Unique Item
Björnfang’s Tusks – Unique Gloves
- Cataclysm is now guaranteed to strike anything in range, and you deal with 40-100% increased damage for the duration of the effect. While Cataclysm is active, you gain unlimited Spirit.
Rogue New Unique Item
Shroud of Khanduras – Unique Chest Armor
- Dark Shroud grants Immune for 3 seconds, but your Evade Cooldown is increased by 9-3 seconds. Evading while Dark Shroud is active leaves behind an explosion that deals Shadow damage and pulls in enemies.
Necromancer New Unique Item
Path of Trag’Oul – Unique Boots
- Bone Prison traps a larger area and fires 10-30 Bone Splinters at enemies trapped within. Increase your Maximum Essence by 2 for 10 seconds each time these Bone Splinters hit an enemy.
Sorcerer New Unique Item
Axial Conduit – Unique Pants
- Chain Lightning alternates between orbiting you and seeking up to 3 enemies. When it returns, it drains 6 Mana from you for each active Chain Lightning. After draining 66 total Mana, the bolt explodes for 5,514 – 22,056 Lightning damage.
- Chain Lightning expires if you don’t have enough Mana for it to drain.
