The first Genshin Impact update of the year is on the horizon, and players couldn’t be happier with that. Version 3.4 is bringing two long-awaited characters to increase Dendro’s representation in the cast, and all of the reruns feature fan favorites in this patch too. It’s like Christmas never ended.
And as expected of the Lantern Rites, there are also lots of freebies such as 10 Intertwined Fates distributed through 7 days, a whole new Desert area as an expansion to the already huge Sumeru region, and much more. But when is this all happening?
When Does Genshin Impact 3.4 Release? – Answered
Genshin Impact 3.4 release date is January 18 in Asia (UTC +8) a few hours after the current Raiden Shogun/Kamisato Ayato banners end. Due to timezones differences, the patch hits North America (UTC -5) on January 17 instead.
Maintenance starts at 06:00 in Asia and 17:00 in North America and should last for 5 straight hours. Players get a bonus of 300 Primogems as compensation for downtime, with 60 more for each extra hour the server is down if something wrong happens.

The first banners, available immediately after the server is back up, are confirmed to feature both Alhaitham and Xiao with the newcomer Yaoyao as one of the 4-stars. Three weeks later, the boys give the honors to Yelan and Hu Tao, who will be featured until the release of 3.5 in the future.
With the huge amount of prizes this version is bound to distribute, players will have no shortage of chances to pull for any of those, if so they wish. Aside from the main Lantern Rites event, many other special occasions such as the Second Blooming event, which awards the new Lisa skin for participants, will be held in this update, so be sure to take part in these.
