I’ve said it once, I’ve said it twice, and I will say it again; play Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, because the release date has been announced and I’m super hyped to play it. I do wish at some point that Nintendo would reward me for owning old-school games; if I prove I have the cartridge, can I just get a copy of the new game? I do want to show my support for the game, but money, am I right? Anyway, the release date for Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is closer than you may think, and we’ll go over it below.
When is Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective’s Official Release Date?
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective’s official remake will release on June 30 of this year. It’ll have some massive updates to the graphics, no longer using the pixelated version from eons ago when I was first getting into adventure puzzle games. Instead, it’ll use high-definition graphics that give the models and the layout of the game more depth. This also really improves a lot of the animated scenes where you’ll be able to manipulate objects, some small, and others not so small!
Our lovely cast of characters is equipped with updated profile art, and it looks like we’ll be getting an inside look at some of the concept art that’s been held onto while this remake was in development. If you haven’t played this game before, you can also look forward to an outstandingly-catching soundtrack that includes around 37 tracks that have also been updated for its modern remake.
It looks like the game devs have included a selection of new puzzles for us to solve, so we can’t just use the old cheats and get by on them, but that’ll just grease the wheels in our creaky brains a bit more! Along with that, the graphics for the game were originally outfitted to work with a Nintendo DS, meaning that a lot of the puzzle and solving mechanics were split between screens. One screen showed the displayed item along with its manipulation (if it could be manipulated) and the bottom screen was where the bulk of the action and interaction occurred.
But no longer! Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective has been outfitted and refitted to fill out just one screen so it will fit into more modern tech that is used by most gamers today. Speaking of which, Capcom is intent on making sure that gamers everywhere can get in on this game, making it available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
