Sea of Thieves Release Date

Sea of Thieves is currently set to release on March 20 of 2018, that’s just a short month away from release, and players can expect to dive into the sea-faring adventure head first on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs when that time comes.

If you’re planning on picking up the game, then there are a few things that you should know going into it. First of all, Sea of Thieves is part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This means that fans that purchase the game on their Windows 10 PC or Xbox One can expect the game to transfer over, giving them access to the swash-buckling adventure no matter which of the two platforms they have available.

On top of offering the play anywhere ability, Sea of Thieves also includes cross-platform play, which will allow Xbox One players to connect to and play games with the PC friends. This will double the player base, allowing more crews to be built, which will no doubt make the seas a much livelier place for players.

On top of the release date coming on March 20, it’s highly possible that players can expect to see more playable sessions for the game. This past weekend Rare held a scale test to help test the capacity of the servers, and according to the tweet that they sent out about the test, they have multiple tests set to happen between now and release. Of course, there’s no official word on if these will actually happen, so look for more information as it becomes available.

For now, players have less than a month until they can board their Galleons once more and set sail on the open seas as they search for treasure and make new friends. We’ll be covering Sea of Thieves extensively when the game official releases this March, so make sure you check back on the site often to stay up to date on everything concerning Sea of Thieves.
