Players will soon have an early peek at Blizzard’s newest entry in the Diablo series. Diablo IV is not coming out until June, but the first Closed Beta is coming out very soon. If you happened to get the game on pre-order, congrats! You’ll get to experience it a little bit earlier, but how earlier are we talking about here?
When is the Diablo IV Closed Beta Starting? – Answered
The Diablo IV Closed Beta is starting on Friday, March 17 at 9 AM PT, and goes all the way to Monday, March 20 at 12 PM PT. Players who pre-ordered the Standard version can only enjoy two days of this early testing in the game.
The game will offer a second period of testing in the following week, now free for everyone to enjoy. The Open Beta occurs from Friday, March 24 at 9 AM PT to Monday, March 27 at 12 PM PT, and will offer the same basic experience from the previous week.
Progress has been announced to not carry over to the full release, so don’t expect to start ahead of anyone if you got the game. Characters will be deleted following the testing weekends, so be aware of that. Also, this is a beta testing period, so expect A LOT of bugs around the way, and be sure to report them so they won’t stick around in full release.

Blizzard is known for giving special cosmetics to those who participated in the Beta periods when the full game is released later, so we might expect a freebie in the future. No Beta rewards were announced to this point, but there’s still a lot of time until the official release.
Early Access progress will be carried over, though. You get up to 4 days of it if you bought the Digital Deluxe or the Ultimate Editions, so they might be worth it if you really feel like being an early bird on your way to hell.
