Where is Redd In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

You can find this jolly ‘ol pirate on his boat that will be docked in a secret beach area that you may have already come across. You can find his boat in the Northernmost beach in a small sectioned area often overlooked! But before that boat can dock, there are a few steps that need to be completed before you can start those anticipated art dealings. Here’s what you need to know

How to Unlock Redd In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In order to unlock the ability to house this particular visitor, you’re going to need to spend some major time investing in your island’s museum. First off, the donations. Luckily, the donations needed to turn into Blathers includes the one given to Tom Nook early on in the game. The breakdown in terms of how many are needed in total, so 60 donations of a mix of the three items below:

Bugs

60

Fish

60

Fossils

60

For those that have their museums built and ready, only 40 more donations are needed with including previous donations made. After the 60 donations, the art piece requirement has been met and Blathers will then tell you that he will begin taking donations for art instead of the usual creepy crawlies found throughout the island. While he asks for art, there isn’t a place to showcase the art quite yet, though this will trigger that the island is ready for Redd’s arrival, the “suspicious individual” hovering around the coast’s edge.

Once he’s been declared to be findable, players can then find him on the beach where he will try to entice you into buying some art for an insane amount of Bells. A word of caution, however. Though Redd has some pretty sick pieces to buy, not all of them are legit, and fraudulent art can’t be hung in the museum once it opens up its art wing.

Luckily for you, the first art offered to buy is completely legitimate, so buy the piece and take that to Blathers to donate. When Blathers receives the donation, he will then begin reconstruction efforts on the building to include a beautiful new art exhibit to excited everyone’s inner artist.

Once the art exhibit for the museum is finished, players can then take long strolls through the second-floor corridor and enjoy the little things. Oh, and be sure to keep those peepers peeled because Redd can be found docked at random times at the northernmost part of the island in that alcove mentioned previously! Just make sure you have a ladder handy, or at least invest is some island enhancements for easy access.

And there you have it! That is where you can find Redd in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and how to unlock him and make that island ready for some shady shady art!
