Once you get into crafting in Starfield, a whole new world of possibilities is open for you. You can finally put some use to those seemingly useless loots you got from enemies and from exploring planets through and through. But you might still lack a few key resources sometimes, so your best bet is to simply buy them from certain vendors scattered around the galaxy.
Where to Find Resources Merchants in Starfield
Resources sellers can be found as early as in New Atlantis, one of the very first locations you’ll visit in Jemison. The Jemison Merchantile shop, found at the western portion of the cities’ Spaceport area (after just dropping out of your ship) is your main stop for these items, as well as other utilities like medicine, ammo, weapons and all of that basic stuff.
Another “main” resource merchant you can find is located in the Volli Alpha planet in the Neon city. After landing in the city’s spaceport, take the elevator down and walk to your left (heading to the Ryujin office) until you spot the Newill’s Good store, which acts in a similar way to the previously mentioned shop.

These are the two of the early big resource shops you can find in your journeys through the galaxy, but many other NPCs in minor shops or locations might also sell you them, sometimes even with heavy discounts. So, keep your eyes open to any possible merchant you see wandering around the planets.
How to Get More Resources in Starfield
Other than buying, your main method for obtaining resources is through exploration. You can gather and collect them on any given planet by approaching them and collecting them after scanning. You can check a planet resource list by scanning it before landing. Use this to know which planets are worth visiting or not when looking for a specific resource.
Setting an Outpost can also give you some extra resources over time, as long as you put them in the correct location to mine for them. The local fauna also drops exclusive resources like tissues, so be ready to hunt some aliens in your not-so-peaceful journeys. Sneaking your way through them is the best strategy for lone prey.
