Where to Get the Assault Vest in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Let them throw the punches - fashion will protect you

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been out for a bit now and trainers’ teams are starting to cement. But what’s a Pokemon without an item to cling to? Hold items are something frequently overlooked by more laid-back trainers, but in the competitive scene, they’re absolutely essential. And some held items are simply head and shoulders above the rest.

If you have a tank on your team, that’s there to absorb any attack thrown at it, there are few hold items as useful as the Assault Vest. This fashion atrocity fits your Pokemon no matter the size and raises its Special Defense at the expense of using status moves.

If you have a heavily offensive glass cannon, there are few other hold items as useful. It’s already seen competitive use on Arcanine, the delicate but powerful Chi-Yu, and even Tera Raid sweeper Iron Hands. But where can you get one for yourself?

Where to Get the Assault Vest in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Fortunately, you won’t have to jump through any crazy hoops to find the assault vest. There are three ways to obtain it.

The first is to go to Porto Marinada, the city by the West Paldean Sea. There, an auction is held each day, and there’s a chance that one of the stalls will have the Assault Vest for sale. This is extremely unlikely, but there’s a soft reset method to refresh the wares they have for sale.

But if it’s not for sale there, don’t worry. Head to Delibird Presents in Porto Marinanda… and then go behind it. There, on the ground, with be the Assault Vest. I’ve yet to see this item elsewhere in the overworld.

The last option should, honestly, be your last resort unless you have a significant amount of cash on you. Head to Mesagoza City then go to Delibird Presents. If you’ve beaten enough gyms, over 4, you should find it listed in the battle items’ wares. But it will run you 50,000 Pokedollars.

Still, if it keeps your Pokemon alive, it’s worth it.

Good luck finding that vest, trainer!
