While we all have the shop refresh timer memorized in our minds, it’s nice to have visual confirmation as to when it will rotate to new stock. Is there a reason that Epic Games has removed this visual from the Fortnite shop?
Where Is The Fortnite Shop Timer?
Normally, when you visit the Fortnite Item Shop, there is a small timer in the bottom right of the screen that shows when the next rotating Item Shop will be around. This normally hits around 7:00 PM EST daily, so the removal of this timer may have people wondering if item shops will be rotating more often or less often than they already do.
However, as the day has gone on, it appears that the Item Shop timer removal may not have been planned, as the official Fortnite Status page is looking into the disappearance of the timer. Is this a signal for a new event, or are they just planning on keeping The Weeknd and his items in the shop forever? Only time will tell at this point, but it seems we may see the return of the shop timer before too long.
Since the item shops have been a little lackluster lately, the initial bit of speculation was that too many people were commenting about the lack of variety, which caused Epic to remove the timer. It seems that this is purely speculation, as it may be something along the lines of a glitch rather than a new feature that was implemented. Only time will tell, however, so we’ll just need to keep checking the shop at the normal time to see if things are continuing to rotate as expected.
