Why Has Dragon’s Dogma 2 Received Negative Backlash?

However, the ‘Mixed’ rating is largely a result of the surprise introduction of microtransactions as well as poor performance for many users. With no prior notice of the inclusion of microtransactions, players are upset at the prospect of monetizing in-game features like fast-traveling and changing character appearances.
While the Deluxe Edition does offer extra goodies, it appears that you can get them by spending real-life money as well. Dragon’s Dogma 2 isn’t a multiplayer title like Call of Duty or EA FC 24, and you’ll never be competing against others. Hence, you can completely enjoy and complete the game at your own pace. Additionally, all the items that you can buy through microtransactions can also be earned by just playing the game.
While doing so could take some time, there’s no rush to complete all the content, and the rate of getting the important materials like Wakestones is pretty generous. While you could choose to spend if you want, the inherent advantages are not that massive.
