EA Sports College Football 25 will be released worldwide on July 16, and the developers have started revealing important technical information. Many interested players have wondered if the upcoming title, being a console exclusive, will offer features like Cross Progression and Crossplay. Here’s all the important information available directly from the developers.
Will EA Sports College Football 25 Feature Crossplay?
Yes, the upcoming college football simulator will have full crossplay support. This feature is going to be present for users on the PS5 and the Xbox Series XlS. Crossplay is going to be turned on for all users by default, and it will be available on all applicable matchmaking. Of course, there will be a choice to turn it off from the in-game settings.
It’s certainly a novel approach for EA Sports to have included crossplay from the start. Many of their other games, like EA FC 24, EA Sports F1 23, and Madden 24, offer full crossplay (some even allow the feature between console and PC users). Having this feature will benefit both PS5 and Xbox Series XlS players during online matchmaking. There are several game modes, including Ultimate Team, that will feature online matches.
Will EA Sports College Football 25 Feature Cross Progression?
You can use the same account to play on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles (as long as they’re current-gen). However, you’ll have separate progression on both platforms, and you’ll need to get individual copies on them as well.
This is the same rule applicable to all EA Sports titles that are currently available. It’s slightly problematic, as players have to grind separately on different platforms.
College Football 25 is currently available for pre-order, and players can choose between the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. The latter comes with three days of early access as well. The EA Sports MVP Bundle is also available at $149.99, which includes the Digital Deluxe Editions of both EA Sports College Football 25 and Madden 25.
