Slime Rancher 2 is a first-person, open-world life-simulator adventure game. Sounds complicated? Well, it probably is. You control the main character called Beatrix LeBeau and follow her story as she sets out to discover Rainbow Island in the sequel. Slime Rancher 2 has been announced for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S. This keeps PlayStation 4 and 5 users wondering if the game will be available on PS4 and PS5 from the “early access” launch day on September 22, 2022.
Can You Play Slime Rancher 2 on PS4 and PS5? – Answered
Similar to what happened with Slime Rancher 1, Slime Rancher 2 will not be available on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. We recall that the PS4 version of the original Slime Rancher came approximately one year after the initial release on Xbox One. It is not confirmed yet whether or not Slime Rancher 2 will follow suit and have some sort of a “timed Xbox exclusive” deal like its predecessor, but we can only hope, along with all PS4 and PS5 users.
Given the fact that the original Slime Rancher kept selling over the years since it got a PS4 and Nintendo Switch release, it would be a shame for the developers to not capitalize on the interest of many players that do not possess a system that Slime Rancher 2 is currently confirmed for.

However, keeping in mind that regarding Xbox, Slime Rancher 2 will release only for Series X and S initially, it is expected that if Slime Rancher 2 gets a PlayStation release somewhere down the line, it would only happen on PS5, analogous to Xbox.
