A new mid-season patch, a new World Event activity for us to enjoy.. if the lag lets us.
Time Rifts are one of the big new additions in patch 10.1.5 in WoW Dragonflight, and it sees us traversing multiple “invading realities,” from Wrath of the Lich King to Legion and more. We’ll be assisting the Bronze Dragonflight with getting the timeline straight by completing some straightforward objectives with some powerful (and flashy) rewards.
What Are Time Rifts in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight?
Time Rifts appear every hour, on the hour in Thaldraszus, directly East of Valdrakken. They’re marked with a horn icon that appears on the map, which also tells you when the next one will appear.
First thing’s first – talk to Soridormi when the event begins to “start” the Time Rift activity. She’ll grant you your first objective, and our goal is to complete tasks until the bar at the top of the screen is full. All players in the area will contribute to this objective, so it shouldn’t take too long!
Next, we’ll venture into the invading reality by entering the portal located in the middle of the basin. Defeating the Fractured Causality within will complete the event.

Time Rift Rewards
The first time you complete a Time Rift each week, Soridormi will grant you a weekly quest that gives a Contained Paracausality. This can be opened to grant gold, Encapsulated Destinies (which guarantee a reward the next time you complete a Time Rift), Shadowflame fragments, and Dilated Time Capsules (which can be traded for 402 item level gear).
Participating in Time Rifts also grants Paracausal Flakes. These can be used to buy item level 402 trinkets from the various vendors near Soridormi, cosmetic armor and weapons, mounts, tabards, and more! It’s easy to get – your bag will fill with the stuff as you participate – and it’s farmable!
Time Rifts are a great way to get caught up on gear. The 402 level gear you get from the event can be upgraded to 424 using Shadowflame Crests and Flightstones in Loamm. If you’d like to know more, check out our guide on how to get to Zaralek Caverns in WoW Dragonflight.
