Destiny 2’s Festival of Lost is always one of the best times of the year in the Tower, but it’s sadly approaching its last days. If you’re still farming candies for that Mechabre with god roll or trying to fill The Book of The Forgotten, now is the time for one last focused push.
Here’s how to get those candies and pages as efficiently as possible in Destiny 2. And remember, you’ll need to be wearing a mask for candy to drop!
Your Last Minute Guide for Candy Farming and Spectral Pages
Farming Candies in Destiny 2’s Crucible
The end of The Festival of the Lost has coincided with the best PVP mode Destiny has to offer. Yep, that’s right, it’s time for Mayhem! Even if you don’t enjoy PVP, I recommend Mayhem. It’s a mode that accelerates your abilities and supers, meaning that it’s nonstop ultimates, all the time.

Run a high intellect and discipline build to take advantage of these boosts. And then run a subclass that allows for a decent area of effect. As a Warlock, I really enjoy using Nova Bomb: Cataclysm, as it will follow a target for a certain distance and then linger. I’ve died and respawned, only to get three kills because my Nova Bomb was putting in work. This may be the only mode at the moment where Hunters are completely dominating, but Stasis builds still do well. You’ll get a baseline of 245 candies per game completed.
The other mode that’s great for farming candies is Rumble. This is a free-for-all, which means that there are more opportunities to kill. But, more importantly, these games end quickly. You’ll get eight candies per kill and at the end of each game, get 245.
Farming Candies in Destiny 2’s Nightfall
This method will net you ~1,800 candies per hour.
Select the lowest difficulty Nightfall, as what we care about here is speed. Our goal is to complete the Nightfall in approximately 10 minutes and repeat until we’ve hit the number of candies we’re satisfied with. This method garners 300 candies per Nightfall competition.
If you’re comfortable with higher levels, Master or Grandmaster can net you 525 candies per completion, but I’d only recommend it if you can complete these quickly, or if you have a fireteam you know is competent.
Farming Candies in Destiny 2’s Strikes
Strikes are essentially low-grade Nightfalls, and there are some that you can complete extremely quickly. The Lake of Shadows in the EDZ’S The Reservoir is one of them. It can take approximately five minutes (or less, once you’ve got it down to muscle memory), and you’ll get 230 candies to complete it.
I completed this one (and died while being a little too reckless driving through snipers on a sparrow) in four minutes. So, someone better than me will probably be able to complete it in less.
Farming Spectral Pages in Destiny 2
Public Events are often suggested as the best way to farm Spectral Pages. This is simply not true. Public Events offer 2-3 pages, but what makes this inefficient is that some public events have multiple stages and you’ll have to travel between them. Since you’ll need 193 pages to completely fill out the book, this is too time-consuming, especially with only four days left.
What I recommend instead is to return to the Witch Queen’s campaign. Choose Classic, then select The Investigation. If you’ve already completed the campaign, you shouldn’t be significantly over-leveled for this mission and able to breeze right through it in 6–7 minutes. Defeat the Barrier Guards and Lucent Wizard, then drive over to Fynch. This completes the mission, and you’ll receive nine Spectral pages.
What’s even better is that you can do this solo. I enjoy popping on a podcast while farming, and within an hour you should have 76 or 77 Spectral pages. You’ll need 193 of these total to fill out this year’s book, so if you have a few spare hours, this is the best way to complete it.
It’s extremely important to note that you can only hold 75 pages! I’ve wasted time farming missions, only to realize that while I was making huge hoards of candy, I was netting zero pages.
