Who knew Cloud had a penchant for alchemy? Here’s how to find Beast Bone in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Where to Get Beast Bone in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – Exact Location
As you flee the city of Kalm, the innkeeper will give you an Item Transmuter, which will be invaluable on your journey. But to use it effectively, you’ll need an assortment of items, many of which you’ll find in the world either by foraging or defeating monsters. And the latter is certainly the case with the Beast Bone.
The earliest opportunity you’ll have to find Beast Bones is in the Grasslands, immediately after leaving Kalm. Here, you can find them by defeating Elphadunk. Elphadunk is a stout blue monster that, of course, looks like an elephant. Elphadunks typically appear near the trampled paths that cut across the Grasslands. And it’s my headcanon that they’re actually the ones responsible for those paths. Elphadunks are nearly always in pairs. And once you defeat them, you’re practically guaranteed to get a Beast Bone, as it’s one of their most common drops.
You can even opt to steal the Beast Bone from them with a Steal Materia, if you’re so inclined, or try to farm the much rarer Beast Pelt from them. Monsters respawn in the Grasslands, so running along the lengths of the paths, particularly to the southeast of Kalm, is a good way to get half a dozen Beast Bones in a run.
But SOLDIER, beware! Elphadunks are very tanky. You can quickly stagger them by taking advantage of their weaknesses to Fire and Ice. And because they tend to utilize their ability, Charge, often, it’s a good idea to get acquainted with the dodge button.
But Beast Bones aren’t the only thing you’ll need to collect if you want to level up your crafting ability. Numinous Ashes are much harder to find and are essential for crafting Phoenix Drafts.
