It’s easy to forget that Quagsire exists, but it does! It’s round and blue and its dual-typing means it has plenty of resistances. So, how do you beat it in Pokemon GO? And how can you reveal the most of its slimy potential? Here are Quagsire Weakness, Counters and Best Moveset in Pokemon GO.
Quagsire Weakness, Counters and Best Moveset in Pokemon GO
Right off the bat, we know that this Generation II Pokemon is inspired by one of the coolest Japanese amphibians, the giant salamander. And like the giant salamander, Quagsire spends most of its time embedded in the water and in the mud. Hence its dual-typing, Water and Ground. This dual typing is a double-edged sword for our darling Quagsire, as it means that it has plenty of resistances (five in total, including total immunity from electric moves) but means that it can be utterly devastated by Grass-Type moves.
Like, any Grass-type move will do x4 damage devastated. That makes Quagsire’s counters pretty clear.
If you’re going up against a very powerful Quagsire in Pokemon GO, these are the best Pokemon to go toe-to-toe with it. They’re listed from the most powerful to the least powerful.
- (Mega) Sceptile with Bullet Seed and Frenzy Plant
- Kartana with Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade
- (Shadow) Torterra with Razor Leaf and Frenzy Plant
- (Mega) Venusaur with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant
- (Shadow) Tangrowth with Vine Whip and Power Whip
- (Shadow) Venusaur with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant
While many of the Pokemon listed are Mega or Shadow, any Grass Pokemon with resistance to Water or Ground moves will do very well.
