Redfall is an open-world action-adventure game where you explore an island and fight against hordes of vampires. You can either play it by yourself or team up with others as you try out new characters and their skill trees. It’s fun, wild, and on multiple platforms, allowing you to choose where and how you want to play. With that in mind, one question remains: can you play Redfall on your PlayStation console? If you would like to learn more, continue reading to discover whether Redfall is coming to PS4 and PS5.
Is Redfall Coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?
To quickly recap Redfall’s platform availability, Arkane has already confirmed that it’s coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S through Steam, Epic Games, and Game Pass. Whether you plan on pre-ordering it through Steam or hopping on Game Pass for Redfall’s day one release, you can rest assured that you can play if you’re on these devices.
Can the same be said for PlayStation consoles, though? In short, no, Redfall will not release on PS4 or PS5. There are multiple reasons for this, as described during an interview with Arkane’s creative director, Harvey Smith.
Originally, a PlayStation 5 version of the game was planned to release alongside PC and Xbox. However, these plans were canceled following Microsoft’s acquisition, shifting the focus to supporting Xbox and PC. “Change with a capital C,” to be precise. Smith also reveals it as a positive decision that makes the development process easier and less complex.
