Update: Information on Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition has been fleshed out a little.
The bundle is penned for release on May 29th on PS3 and Xbox 360, though for some reason there’s no mention of the PC version. It contains the latest DLC pack, Harley Quinn’s Revenge, as well as the previous 5 add-ons.
Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC will be available to download on April 30th and has two hours of extra gameplay for the main campaign, Warner Bros claims. It’ll be available to buy worldwide on May 30th in North America and September for Europe and Australia on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for 800 MS Points or $9.99, respectively. Again, we’re not sure what’s happening with the PC version but we’ll keep you informed.
The DLC allows players to play as both Batman and Robin in an attempt to foil Harley Quinn. Apparently you have the chance to “shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever.” There’s new storyline, new environments and a brand new gang of thugs to fight.
The press release details the following information included in the GOTY edition:
• Maps: Wayne Manor, Main Hall, Freight Train, Black Mask, The Joker’s Carnival, Iceberg Long, and Batcave
• Playable Characters: Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing
• Skins: 1970s Batsuit, Year One Batman, The Dark Knight Returns, Earth One Batman, Batman Beyond Batman, Animated Batman, Sinestro Corps Batman, Long Hallowe’en Catwoman, Animated Catwoman, Animated Robin, Red Robin and Animated Nightwing
US editions of the game also include a download of the animated film Batman: Year One.
Original Story: Batman: Arkham City is to be rereleased in the form of Game of the Year Edition that’ll include a massive amount of DLC. The Harley Quinn content included is set to be the “final chapter” of Arkham City’s campaign.
Batman: Arkham City’s GOTY edition will include the Harley Quinn content along with the Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing DLC packs, and the Arkham City Skin Challenge Map Pack.
You’ll also be able to download the Batman: Year One animated movie, which is well worth a watch.
