Metro City has no time to sleep as Street Fighter 6 continues to welcome new fighters. In the latest gameplay trailer, we get a glimpse at how Terry’s fighting style translates from Fatal Fury into Street Fighter, as well as a look at the new stage he will bring. As a final treat, we also learn his release date, and it’s just around the corner.
Terry’s gameplay trailer features lots of fun references to the history of Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and even their crossover games. The two fighters duking it out at the start of the video are the same ones from the intro of the original Street Fighter 2. This reference is followed up with Terry arriving to Metro City in a taxi. The way he looks up at the “Knockout Festival” electronic displays mimics the opening to the first Fatal Fury game, where he exits a taxi and looks up at a poster for the King of Fighters tournament.
The bulk of the trailer takes place in the new “Pao Pao Cafe 6” stage. This is a Metro City branch of the cafe that appears across Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games. In the stage background are fellow Fatal Fury characters Joe Higashi and Blue Mary Ryan. In a possible nod to the special interactions they have in the SNK vs. Capcom titles, Terry’s first opponent he faces off against is Ken, this time letting their fists do the talking.
Street Fighter characters typically don’t have as many special moves as characters from Fatal Fury or King of Fighters, so we get to see how some of Terry’s classic moves are distributed across his Street Fighter kit. Notably, some moves like Power Dunk have become target combos. We also get a look at his Level 3 Super Art, which seems to draw minor inspiration from the Fatal Fury OVA but is otherwise entirely new.
The trailer also shows off Terry’s Outfit 2, his jacket and haircut from Garou: Mark of the Wolves and the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. If Terry follows in line with all previous Street Fighter 6 characters, including DLC, players will be able to unlock this classic look for free with a bit of Bond Level grinding in World Tour Mode.
The final bit of information on Terry comes not from the trailer itself but from the video description: he’ll be pulling into Street Fighter 6 on September 24. Players interested in welcoming the hungry wolf to Metro City would do well to prepare their fighter in World Tour Mode in the short time until his arrival.
