While Fatal Fury characters are hitting the streets in Street Fighter 6, Street Fighter 6 characters are bringing their quarter-circle forwards into the WWE SuperCard’s squared circle. In the collectible card mobile game’s latest crossover event, Street Fighter 6 characters can be challenged in Tournament Mode to join players’ decks, and certain WWE Superstars will also feature in cards themed after the fighting game characters.
Although the Street Fighter characters that have landed in WWE SuperCard are specifically in Street Fighter 6, they hail from various points across the series’s storied history, including the Street Fighter 2 originals, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Cammy, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, and Dhalsim. Joining them are the relatively newer characters Luke, Juri, and Rashid, and even the Street Fighter 6 newcomer Jamie. If you’ve always wanted Zangief to team up with The Undertaker, this WWE SuperCard event can’t be topped.
The WWE Superstars won’t be shown up by the street fighters, however. As explained on the WWE SuperCard website, after completing Tournament Mode, players will unlock the Car Battle bonus mode, based on Street Fighter’s classic car crushing featured in many games’ arcade mode challenges. Car Battle is where players can earn Street Fighter 6-themed Equipment cards and crossover cards featuring Xavier Woods dressed as Ken, Rey Mysterio dressed as Ryu, and Zelina Vega dressed as Juri. Car Battle mode is also where players can obtain a Limited Edition Akuma card if they can destroy all 12 cars, one for each Street Fighter character.
It may seem surprising to say that this crossover event isn’t the first time Street Fighter 6 and WWE have come together. But Zelina Vega is already in Street Fighter 6 as one of the in-game real-time commentators under her real name, Thea Trinidad. She’s been a huge Street Fighter fan for a long time and has cosplayed as characters such as Juri and Vega at different Royal Rumbles. In fact, the “Vega” in her stage name comes from the Street Fighter character. Unfortunately, Vega isn’t in Street Fighter 6’s cast as of the season 2 DLC. We can only hope that, finally, the Spanish ninja will come back to Metro City.
