Metal Gear Survive Gets a New Single Player Trailer

Konami has revealed that Metal Gear Survive will indeed feature a single player campaign.

Metal Gear Survive is slated to arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 20, 2018 but up until now details about the game have been scarce, and all that players have known is that the spinoff of Metal Gear Solid V will require players to hunt for supplies alongside their friends. Now, though, Konami has officially revealed that the game will indeed include a single player story for players to dive through.

In a new gameplay trailer from Konami, Yuji Korekado, the Game Producer on Metal Gear Survive explains some of the story elements behind the game, and how it connects to Metal Gear Solid V.

According to Korekado, the player will take control of a nameless soldier from motherbase, after it was destroyed at the end of the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, a wormhole appears in the sky, sucking up the debris and other soldiers. Korekado explained that players take on the role of a soldier who managed to escape that fate, only to be sent through the wormhole a year later to explore the world beyond it.

You can check out the trailer for all the big details, and to see some portions of the game in action. So far it’s looking like Metal Gear Survive will offer an experience very much like that of Metal Gear Solid V, but with its own twists. Fans should also know that, it was also revealed in the video that the game is a spin off episode of Metal Gear Solid V, and that the story told within will not be part of the main timeline, similar to the sub missions in Ground Zeroes that featured Raiden or Snake from Metal Gear Solid I.
