If you have recently teamed up with a friend to complete the couch co-op adventure game A Way Out, you may be curious about all of A Way Out’s various endings. Many players have been wondering just how many endings there are in A Way Out and whether or not there is a secret alternative ending to unlock.
This guide will go over all endings in A Way Out as well as how to unlock each ending so that players know how many endings are possible in this action-packed adventure. Of course, story spoilers are inevitable when talking about all the possible endings in A Way Out.

All Endings in A Way Out
A Way Out is primarily a narrative-driven adventure game that happens to be co-op only. While your choices as Vincent and Leo have some narrative impact throughout the game, the ending is ultimately determined by your decisions and actions during Chapter 5: Conflict.
This is good because if you want to go back to complete the game with a different ending, all you need to do is load up the final chapter and play the events differently rather than replaying the entire game.
How Many Endings Does A Way Out Have?
A Way Out has two possible endings, one for Leo and one for Vincent. After the major betrayal in Chapter 5: Conflict, Vincent and Leo must turn against one another and fight for survival, causing the two co-op players to do the same.
The final chapter of A Way Out consists of a vicious gunfight between Vincent and Leo. Only one of the two fugitives can survive. The ending of A Way Out depends on which of the two characters grabs the gun at the end to shoot the final bullet that puts down their partner.
- Vincent’s Ending – If Vincent survives, you will see a cutscene where he holds Leo’s hand. Vincent will return to inform Linda and Alex of Leo’s death.
- Leo’s Ending – If Leo defeats Vincent at the end, Vincent asks Leo to give a note to Carol. Leo leaves the note on Carol’s doorstep.
Is There a Secret Ending in A Way Out?
Upon reaching the end of A Way Out, many players want to know whether there’s a third secret ending where both Leo and Vincent survive. While this would arguably be considered the best ending, there doesn’t seem to be any other endings in A Way Out besides the two mentioned above. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t another ending, but so far no one has found evidence to support this.
