There are many game modes to look forward to for Madden fans. However, those who own older-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not get to relish in the excitement of Madden NFL 24 game modes that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners will get to.
EA Sports has proclaimed that because of the contrast in gameplay Madden players will experience due to platform differences, game modes will differ. Also, with the announcement that Madden 24 is cross-play compatible, knowing what game modes are coming is more of a priority now. In this post, I’ll be listing all of the game modes and what platforms get to enjoy them, as well as what game modes will be included in cross-play.
Listing All Madden NFL 24 Game Modes
EA has reintroduced some of the fan-favorite game modes while removing some of the deadweight from current-gen platforms that players were not in favor of. Some of these game modes will be a means of progression in a couple of single-player modes while also being stand-alone modes that players can play.

The developers have also introduced tiered abilities and real-time player grading to certain single-player modes, promising a far better NFL experience for Madden players after dropping The Yard and Face of the Franchise for newer-generation consoles and PC owners. Below is the list of Madden NFL 24 game modes.
Madden NFL Game Modes for PS5 & Xbox Series X/S, & PC
- Franchise Mode (Some major updates are only available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC),
- Superstar: The League and Showdown,
- Mini-Games,
- Madden Ultimate Team, and
- Madden NFL Skills Trainer.
Madden NFL Game Modes for PS4 & Xbox One
- Franchise Mode,
- Mini-games,
- Madden Ultimate Team,
- Madden NFL Skills Trainer,
- The Yard (PS4 and Xbox One only), and
- Face of the Franchise (PS4 and Xbox One only).
Cross-Play Game Modes
Players who want to enjoy cross-play gaming and features must have a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, as cross-play is restricted to these platforms.
- Head-to-Head,
- Madden Ultimate Team (MUT),
- Superstar KO, and
- Superstar Showdown.
