Larian Studios have released one of the big contenders for the 2023 GOTY title it seems. The critics and the audience love it, and on Steam only, it has reached a peak of 814,666 concurrent players during the first week of the release. Baldur’s Gate 3 truly looks beautiful, is functional, and on top of it all, is highly enjoyable! In case you were wondering how many party members can you fit in your party in Baldur’s Gate 3 (or in other words, what’s the max amount of party members you can have in BG3), you’ve come to the right place, where we’ll brief you on the max party size in the game.

What is the Party Member Limit in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)?

You can have a maximum of four party members in Baldur’s Gate 3. It seems that this limit was put in place so that the game can be properly balanced around it. Also, it is more interesting to play the game like that, because it wouldn’t be fun if everyone would be able to stack up the same classes that have a broken synergy and pwn the game. With a party member limit of four, you are forced to make decisions, prioritize some characters, and renounce the other ones. Indeed, previous Baldur’s Gate games had a bigger cap, but that’s all in the past now.

Can You Increase the Party Size Limit in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Of course, somebody will certainly find a way to break the game with mods and allow you to have at least half a dozen party members in the future, but that’s an unofficial and third-party thing that you would be doing at your own peril (and some responsibility™).

Will Baldur’s Gate 3 Party Size be increased officially by Larian Studios?

I don’t think so. Such a big change will impact the balance of the game greatly and, let’s be real, they are not going to put in the work hours into adjusting it, after working for years to get the 1.0 version out.

That’s all about the party size talk, folks.
