Diablo 4 has just announced the new expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which will be released on October 8, 2024. The announcement gives all players, or should I say Nephalems, pre-order bonuses as well as other exciting editions with various cosmetics, premium currency, and more. Here are all the details regarding all the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred editions so you know which one to go for!
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Editions
Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion features three different editions available for purchase: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate. If you pre-purchase now, you’ll also get pre-order bonuses regardless of which edition you buy.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition – PS5 – $39.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition – Xbox Series S/X – $39.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition – Battle.net – $39.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition – Steam – $39.99
The Standard Edition only comes with the base game. However, if you pre-purchase, you’ll get the following rewards:
- Alkor, Snow Leopard Pet
- Mother’s Lament Legendary Gem in Diablo Immortal
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Deluxe Edition
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Deluxe Edition – PS5 – $59.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Deluxe Edition – Xbox Series S/X – $59.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Deluxe Edition – Battle.net – $59.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Deluxe Edition – Steam – $59.99
The Deluxe Edition also has the same pre-order bonuses and the following:
- Hratli, Canine Pet
- Nahantu War-Cat Mount and Armor Bundle
- One Premium Battle Pass Token
It is worth noting that the Premium Battle Pass Token says “One,” which means you can only claim one Battle Pass for a single season.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition – PS5 – $89.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition – Xbox Series S/X – $89.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition – Battle.net – $89.99
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition – Steam – $89.99
The Ultimate Edition is the highest edition offered, and it includes the following bonuses:
- All Deluxe Edition bonuses
- 3,000 Platinum
- Natalya, Tiger Pet
- Nahantu Unearthed Armor Bundle (full five-piece armor set)
- Wings of the Faith cosmetic
- Nahantu Themed Town Portal
The 3,000 Platinum is a bit generous since the game’s first release only had 666 Platinum from the free Battle Pass. This time, you’ll get 3,000 Platinum with another Battle Pass that could include more Platinum. If you have played the game before, their class set cosmetics cost upward of 2,000 Platinum. Now, you can choose to buy a cosmetic you want from the shop or buy multiple Battle Passes if you plan on playing multiple seasons.
Is Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred an Expansion or a DLC?
Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred is an expansion, but it also falls under the DLC umbrella. It is downloadable content, after all. However, expansions usually entail a continuation of the original story. Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred continues the story of Neyrelle’s journey across the Sanctuary. Neyrelle has possession of the Soulstone belonging to the prime evil, Mephisto.
In the base game, you already get glimpses of Mephisto throughout the campaign. He even tried to influence you before engaging Lilith. Now, Neyrelle goes to a new region, Nahantu, a jungle drenched in blood and darkness.
The expansion also introduces a new class, the Spiritborn, which thematically fits the new area. The Mercenary system is also returning to Diablo 4, including a new multi-faceted dungeon that requires teamwork to overcome challenges. In a way, all this additional content is what separates an expansion from a simple marketed DLC.
