The First Descendant features various bosses through the Void Intercept Battles. You can think of these fights as raid bosses where you must defeat one boss in an arena with multiple mechanics. The Dead Bride boss is one of the first tough hurdles you must go through, and here’s how you can beat Dead Bride in The First Descendant.
Dead Bride Boss Guide – The First Descendant
The Dead Bride boss has one glaring weakness: the Fire element. Fire-type Descendants are probably the least used characters in the game. Here are some of the best Descendants for the Dead Bride boss fight:
- Lepic
- Blair
- Esiemo
These Descendants all have fire-based skills, so they’ll deal extra damage. The hardest challenge when finishing Void Intercept Battles is the time limit and the limited respawns. It pressures everyone to constantly do damage so they are on track to beat the boss under the time limit.
Dead Bride Boss Mechanics
The Dead Bride uses her typical attacks, like shooting or firing a beam toward a specific player. However, her most dangerous attack is her big sphere of ice damage that practically covers half of the stage.
Once you see the Dead Bride shoot an ice beam into the sky, you’ll see a large sphere around her with a big radius. Get out of it as fast as possible, and try switching to a long-range weapon like a Scout, Tactical, or Sniper Rifle. If you are inside the ice sphere, you’ll take a constant DoT (damage over time), eliminating players in under 5 seconds.
Since the Dead Bride also makes her typical attacks after the ice sphere is up, targeted players will struggle to get out of the ice sphere and dodge her attacks simultaneously.
Try to get used to these attacks and react faster. Once you are out of the radius, you can start doing damage again.
The Dead Bride also has an immune phase like other bosses. Once the Dead Bride is shielded or immune, she’ll spawn some vial-looking objects out of her hand. You can still damage her if you shoot this part. Her immunity phase usually coincides with her ice sphere attack, so shooting these vials from a distance will be hard, but it is still possible.
Void Intercept Battles like the Dead Bride are the main way of opening Amorphous Material Patterns. Fighting the Dead Bride isn’t worth it if you don’t have these Amorphous Material Patterns. You should start farming other materials like Void Shards or Descendant materials like Encrypted Neural Circuits. When you farm these materials, especially through operations, you will also get Amorphous Material Patterns as a reward.
