The Devourer is one of the toughest Void Intercept Battle bosses in The First Descendant. It isn’t hard because of the Devouer’s strength, but it is difficult because of the mechanics involved in the fight. If everyone in your party or group isn’t in sync, you’ll never beat the Devourer. Here’s how to beat the Devourer in The First Descendant.
The Devourer Boss Guide – The First Descendant
The Devourer boss is weak against one of the most popular Descendants in the game, Bunny. Any lightning-based Descendant will deal extra damage to the boss, especially those that specialize in DPS. Here are all the Descendants that are strong against the Devourer:
- Bunny
- Sharen
Your Descendants doesn’t matter as much regarding The Devourer because this boss has one of the lowest HP. Even the Dead Bride boss fight, which is 10 levels below the Devourer, has more HP. However, the difficult boss mechanics compensate for this lowered HP.
The Devourer Boss Fight Mechanics
The Devourer has two dangerous attacks. First, it throws a green bomb that explodes in all directions. The best way to dodge this is to a higher ground. You can always grapple to the pillars to be safe. However, when the Devourer targets you and starts shooting projectiles and missiles, you can run for cover since you are too exposed on top of a pillar.
Secondly, the Devourer has an immune phase. The boss starts to spawn three Symbionts with green spheres around them. You must destroy all three as fast as possible because it’ll heal the Devourer fast when they are up.
If you don’t destroy it fast enough, the Devourer can return to full HP. The immune phase also mixes a few random enemies and some deadly attacks from the Devourer, which makes this section of the fight difficult. Either way, you’ll have to fight back to stop the healing.
The best strategy is to keep your ultimate or high-powered rounds and unleash them simultaneously with other party members to destroy the Symbionts as fast as possible.
If you can push through the immune phase without The Devourer healing to full health, you can beat the boss. If you think your party is doing everything they can to deal damage and it isn’t enough, your party might be lacking in damage. Make sure to upgrade your weapons or even research Ultimate weapons to get some added damage boosts to your characters.
