Fishing can be a relaxing, albeit a bit boring, activity in Warframe. Not only can it be a refreshing calm amid the storm that is the rest of the game, but it can also net you some resources that can prove endlessly useful for building various weapon parts, Warframes, or even cosmetics. There are even some less common fish you can catch, though how you get them can be a little confusing. Here’s how to catch rare Servofish in the Orb Vallis in Warframe.
What Do You Need to Catch Rare Servofish in Warframe?
Rare Servofish can be found within different bodies of water across the Orb Vallis, provided you’re checking hotspots and have the correct bait. Before you go jumping into the Orb Vallis ready to go though, you’ll need the required supplies. In Fortuna, head over to The Business and check his wares. In there, you’ll find several shock spears alongside different kinds of bait. The spear choice depends heavily on how much spare Standing you have lying around. The Shockprod can easily get the job done on specific fish, but the Stunna can stun nearby fish allowing you to quickly catch others once you finish catching the current fish.
No matter the spear you choose, there are three different types of bait you can get for rare fish. These are the Tromyzon, Charamote, and Synathid. Whichever you wish you catch, be sure to get multiple of the same bait since you’re likely to need it. We suggest grabbing at least five bait, though you could even grab multiple types of bait if you want. Once you have those, you’re ready to go out into the Orb Vallis.
How Do You Catch Each Type of Rare Servofish?
Catching each type of rare Servofish isn’t as simple as just throwing your spear into the water and hoping for the best. You’ll need to be in a specific type of water, have that water house a hotspot, and have the weather be correct. Before we go deeper, here is how you catch each rare type of Servofish:
- Tromyzon
- Found in pond hotspots during the Cold weather cycle.
- Charamote
- Found in cave hotspots during either Warm or Cold weather, though prefers Warm.
- Synathid
- Found in cave hotspots during either Warm or Cold weather, though prefers Warm.
Pond bodies of water are the small bodies of water around the map, strangely including the rivers. It does not include the massive lake near the Coolant Reservoir, or the small body of water just East of Fortuna. As for cave bodies of water, some caves have water while others don’t. For some guaranteed spots, you can find water in most caves either North or North East of the map, along with the three caves to the West and South of the Spaceport.
Now that you know where to fish, you’ll need to find a hotspot. Hotspots are small patches of greenish-yellow within the coolant, as depicted in the image above. These can sometimes be hard to spot, but you’ll know if the coolant is changing from its standard blue that it’s a hotspot.

That’s all there is to it! Once you follow these steps, it should be as simple as catching as many fish as you need. You might even snag the Nightwave challenge Venus Fisher, should that challenge be active when you’re reading this. Good luck with your fishing!
