With its astonishing price of $35, players are hesitant about getting the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass. But if you just happened to play it through Xbox, there’s still a cheaper way for you to permanently enjoy The Answer chapter for free (or at least a bit cheaper).
How to Get the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass Through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
As previously announced, you can get the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass through the Xbox Game Pass subscription. This means it’s not exactly free as you’re paying for the sub, but it’s already cheaper than buying the whole expansion by itself. Users must have the Ultimate subscription as the regular version won’t give you the DLC pack.
You can upgrade your current subscription to Ultimate and safely return to the regular version after claiming the Expansion Pass if you want, but your next billing cycle will still charge you the Game Pass Ultimate price, only returning to normal in the following month.
Open your Xbox application and search for Persona 3 Reload. Scroll down until you see the Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass icon under the “Add-Ons” tab. Select it and hit on the “Get” green button to claim it immediately for “free”. You don’t need to own Persona 3 Reload on Xbox and can enjoy it with the Game Pass version alone.
The Expansion Pass can only be claimed until January 31, 2025. Once you claim the game, it’ll be forever in your Xbox account and you can immediately install it. If Persona 3 Reload ever gets removed from the Game Pass in the future (like it happened with other Persona titles), you can still access the DLC pack if you decide to buy the full game on Xbox in the future, even if you don’t own a Game Pass subscription by then.
Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass is divided into three content waves, each of them being released in March, May, and September. The first two waves contain new outfits and BGMs for the game, while the final one contains The Answer – Episode Aigis, a remake of the playable epilogue with the same name previously only available in Persona 3 FES.
The Answer is almost like a whole new game on its own, with Aigis as the main character and new faces showing up in the plot. It’ll take a good while until it’s finally available, but it never hurts to preemptively prepare yourself. You might even want to do another run on the base game in the Merciless difficulty to have an extra prize in your inventory.
