Oliver was kind enough to point you in the right direction, so now’s the time to return the favor. Here’s how to complete Livestock’s Bane in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
How to Complete Livestock’s Bane in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – Walkthrough
Once you’ve unlocked your Chocobo, the Grasslands really opens up, and quite a few sidequests become available. If you speak to Oliver in the far north at Oliver’s Farm, he’ll ask for your help finding what he suspects is a fiend that’s been terrorizing his livestock.
Agree to help, and you and Red will be put on the case. Jump over the fence after Red to investigate the scene of the crime. Examine the broken fence, and Red will tell you the scent is quite poor. Summon your Chocobo and use its scent function to try to find the trail.
Once you’re on your Chocobo, press and hold the Up button on the D-Pad. Then, use your joystick to move the camera towards the arrow that appears on the question mark bubble above your Chocobo’s head. When you’ve done this successfully, a golden trail will pop up.
If you lose sight of this golden trail, that’s okay. You can always press and hold Up to cause the golden thread to reappear. Follow the trail out of the field through the broken fence. Cross over the bridge and turn left.
Red will note that there was a struggle here. You may have to press the Up button again to restart the path. When you do that, the golden thread will continue up the trail.
Follow the golden thread until it descends onto a beach, then turn left. There, you’ll find the White Terror. The White Terror is a wolf that’s been transformed after taking shelter in a live spring. And while it’s quite tough, blocking its attacks can help with staggering it.
Return to Oliver to let him know the good news. He’ll give you an Owl Bracer to celebrate, which offers +15 Defense. He’ll also recommend you visit Broden once you go back to Kalm.
