Little did anyone know, Link is a master chef. Maybe not because of his love for the culinary arts, but out of sheer necessity. But if you want to get cracking on making some of the most life sustaining, temperature resisting meals there are, you’re going to need quite a few ingredients. Here’s how to cook with multiple ingredients in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Cook with Multiple Ingredients in Tears of the Kingdom
So, it’s likely you’ve found your first fire and you’ve cooked a few mushrooms and apples beside it. That’s cool. But what about making your food do a little jig in a cooking pot? And getting some much better meals with much better benefits for your efforts.
To do that, we’re going to need multiple ingredients. So, here’s how to cook with multiple ingredients in Tears of the Kingdom.
- Press the “+” button on your Switch controller.
- Use the “R” or “L” shoulder buttons to navigate to the Materials submenu.
- Select the ingredient you would like to cook with.
- Press Hold.
- Then select the second ingredient you’d like to add.
If you want to add multiples of the same ingredient (for, perhaps, a recipe that will let you resist the cold) just click on the same ingredient twice.
If you want to remove an item from Link’s grasp, hover over it in the menu and press “x” to decrease the number.

You can hold a total of five ingredients, but it’s not just enough to hold them. Press “B” once you have the items you want in your grip. Then you’ll need to toss them onto the pot that you’re cooking on to make your meal.
Speaking of holding things, you might have noticed that your inventory is a little… lackluster, to put it lightly. If you want to know how to increase your inventory slots, check out our guide here! How to Increase Your Inventory in Tears of the Kingdom.
